Just a few short months ago, I was one of 50 performers who bought Michael Dean's "Acts of Grass" to life at the Serpentine Gallery , Kensington Gardens. The performance was based around the idea of intimacy with another person and mirroring their movements so their identity is not their own anymore but is a shared element. Each performer was given the task of interacting and copying one audience members movements and gestures, I then had to read to them from a book of text written by Michael Dean. We had not been allowed to look at the script before the performance began . It was a journey for us as well as the audience member so the words had to be completely new to us too.
It was such a great experience, I thought the performance abstract but deeply meaningful and experimental and I was glad to be given the opportunity to work with him.
