Gap Year / Travel plans

Hey again,
Well, I had my tech rehearsal on Thursday and it went pretty good. It was one of those completely crazy days when you feel so stressed, yet excited and happy all at the same time!! Got the performance next wednesday so looking forward to that and cannot wait to show off what me and my group can do!!!
Enough of the theatre and drama talk. There is one other thing that I have always also been very interested in and passionate about doing and that is TRAVELLING. I can remember ever since I was a little kid, always wanting to go to another world and wishing that the magicial wardobe to Narnia did actually exist - Silly I know, but thats what you get from watching doctor who & star wars?? Where other worlds and planets are just a stones throw away. Anyways ( moving on from my embarassing children's tv choices) , I plan to take my gap yr and go travelling after I graduate from University before entering into the world of work. It's just that I don't wanna go directly from studying all these years to having to enter the big, scary world of work so am gonna take a break and do what i've always dreamed of doing ( So excited already and still have 2 yrs to wait). Even though I'm planning on taking this big trip, I have travelled to some interesting places in the past and even though they were not abroad, they were still so amazing so am gonna share some of my previous adventures on this blog.
The 1st trip I'm gonna share has got to be when I went to Stratford Upon Avon with my friend Becky. We went for 2 days and it was so good. We initally went for the historical aspect with it being Shakespeare's birthplace and all but the shops were just as good. Now because me and Becky are so unique, we decided to go when it was snowing so very cold and slippery roads were something that we aquired quite a lot - But thankfully it didn't make it any less fun!!  We stayed in a travelodge which I have to admit was actually quite nice, I don't know what I was expecting it to be like but it was actually quite comfortable. So by going to a historical place, of course we went to all the historical houses like the Shakespeare Musuem, Anne Hathaways house and even Shakespeare's grave - It was actually much more interesting than it sounds!! I think, the best thing I loved about Stratford was the fact that it is such an old town so it had all the little country-like buildings that you don't really see anymore so being there kinda felt like going back in time. I think it is a journey that I will remember forever as me and my friend had such a nice time and it is a place that i had always wanted to go to. Now, going to put up a couple of pictures that are my personal favourites so you can see just how fun it really was!!!
This is me posing outside William Shakespeare's house. Its located in the centre of the town so it's really hard to miss. Just by my clothing, you can guess how cold it was down there.

Another picture of me posing inside a funny tree / bush thing. At the time, we were not actually sure what was the point of this decorative tree design but it looked quite weird so we decided to go and take pictures inside of it.

This picure I managed to take on a very fast moving train. I was totally excited at this point and wanted to take a picture of all the snow in the fields to show my family. It might seem kinda sad but I like to look and take pictures of the snow - I hate being outside in it because I tend to fall over quite a bit but I dont mind the snow if i'm inside and warm and this picture I thought kinda demonstrated that feeling.

Well, that's all I really have to say about my little outing to Stratford Upon Avon but I'll write soon about my many other adventures including a mother-daughter bonding trip to Disneyland Paris and a mini friend's outing to the lovely London Zoo. Back soon..

Tech & dress Rehearsal!!!!!

Ok well right now I am so stressed out with all my University work going on. thinking I should take up some calming sport such as yoga maybe or WII tennis - That could work!!!
Have got an exciting event coming up though, my technical rehearsal this thursday in preparation for my exam performance on March 3rd. Now normally, I would be running around like a headless chicken but me and my group are so ready for it which tends to lower my stress levels.
This performance is very special and quite different for me because I play a young prostititute!!!I can honestly say that I've never played a character like that before so should be very interesting and also slightly weird at times. Haven't fully finished my costume yet but I can reveal that it does include fish net tights so everyone in that audience better be prepared. I don't know why this is, but all through my life I always seem to play the crazy and full - out extreme roles but I guess i'm kinda used to it by now.
At university its so funny - Watching every other group run around trying to sort out costumes, props, lighting etc and us just standing at the bylines ready for whatever's going 2 happen. This is always the busiest time for me as all my University performances happen in the next couple of months plus all the written work that goes along with it but I think that if I start playing the WII whenever I get totally stressed then that will help in calming me down. Will hopefully be able to upload some pictures from my tech rehearsal so you can see me in my sexy costume and the rest of my group looking amazing so I know everyone will be waiting 4 that.

Past Work Examples

Well, like I promised i'm going to discuss some past acting related work i've done that I am extremely proud of today.
Despite being only 19yrs old, as i've been doing performing arts since i was in primary school, I feel like i've done so much already and i've had some really good and crazy experiences in my life so far.
One aspect that i'm so proud of has to be that my lamda Exam and certificate. For those out there who do not know what Lamda is it stands for The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I took my solo acting exam at Grade 7 which was silver on the 23rd july 2009 while I was sitting my A levels and i passed!!!! Let me just say, it was the most scary and intimidating thing I have ever done and I think i will always remember how nervous I was on that day but I got calm and collected and gave 3 awesome performances ( If i say so myself). As it is one of my achievements that I boast about  I am going to post a picture of my certificate as I'm that sad and that proud.
This is my Lamda Certificate.!!! Like i've already stated, it was such a scary event to undertake because in the room, its just you and the examiner and lucky for me , I had a nice woman so that made it a little bit easier for me. Its something that cemented my dream even further and it also reassured me of my talents and my ability and Im glad that I controlled my nerves and made it happen.
Going back to my good old secondary school days. I spent 5 yrs there and I do miss it sometimes just because I became so comfortable there and it was where I first came out of my shell and stopped being so quiet. Gosh, I can remember quite clearly how I was always getting involved in anything to do with dance or drama. No matter what it would require, I was always the first person there ( Geeky I know) but I dont regret a second of anything. So many projects and performing arts shows, there is seriously too many to mention them all but heres 2 that still stand out to me today and I remember how it felt to be a part of them.
The first one was a Bollywood themed event in Brixton. For me that was just crazy, like jumping into a whole new world. Bollywood theatre, dancing, food, makeup and clothes. What a night!!!! I remember being with all my friends and thinking that we looked like we were playing dress up but all my friends were there together and my family came along to support me and it was one of the funniest performances I think i've ever done. I regret to say that I dont have any pictures of the night because we were all so imersed in what we were doing but I do have the certificate I received to prove I did take part.
I know this will probably sound really sad but I quite like this certificate just because of the gold pattern down the side as it looks really pretty.
These are just two of the many events and performances I have taken part in since I was little , the Lamda being the most recent. I think it shows not only talent but also dedication which is a must in this industry.
They both have places in my portfolio which reminds me that  I also need to sort out my other certificates and awards to pop in there as well.

Not sure when my next post will be as I am very busy over the next coming months working on 2 different performances for my University course. When all the hard work is over, I will try and post up some pictures of me in costume during these performances as I think it would look real nice and maybe be a bit amusing depending on what my costume actually is and my group are having some weird ideas. Hopefully it will not be too long. Goodbye All.
