Exciting times are ahead!!!!
I've recently started a work experience placement with the Rose Theatre in Kingston working as a volunteer Usher, Im still on my training shifts but it is going really well.
Firstly, i have more responsibilities than i thought i would and it is gonna be a really good insight into the backstage goings on in the type of place that I want to be involved with in the future. It is a very nice theatre full of lovely people and they really make you feel like a part of the team.
Here are some pictures of the interior & exterior of the theatre, it really is very beautiful!!!
I have also been featured in the Rose Theatre's offical newsletter as one of their new Ushers which was good for me as it gets sent out to over 200 people by mail and it goes online so I was rather pleased to be in the picture if i say so myself :)
I have also been successful in securing another work experience placement for next summer ( bit early i know, and very long to wait) but at least i'm prepared. I will be working in a primary school, to be honest, it had never really occured to be when I was younger but now it's looking like an interesting option to definitely keep open.
I will be working in Wootton St.Peters C of E Primary school based in Boars Hill in Oxfordshire.
It is a small, local village school that has approximately 100 pupils divided between 4 different age groups/classes.
I have not been given the exact duration of my stay there but i think they want me for 3 weeks - 4 weeks which is just enough time to experience it fully and get the most out of it.
As this work experience is in Oxfordshire and i live in London, next summer i will be spending a couple of weeks living in Oxford with my Nan (hopefully) so it will be a nice little holiday for me working in a nice, countryside primary school and I really cannot wait even though I now have to!!!
That sums up all of the work experience i am doing now and ones I have lined up in the future, will blog next some pictures i have gathered about C of E primary school to get me even more excited about it !
