*Future*

2013 Taken care of !

In terms of plans for the future, I am pretty much sorted out!

I head off to North Carolina on 27th May 2013 to work for Gwynn Valley Camp, so majorly excited that words cannot describe.

I am going to be the Fine Arts Program Leader for the summer which means drama, dance, singing, musical theatre and kids for 2 and a half months!!!!

Got this employment through Camp Leaders Agency and I cannot wait, this camp seems like the perfect one for me, full of warmth, love and welcome and I think it is going to be the most summer of my life.

In the process of getting my visa, medical and all the boring bits out the way now... Also anticipating the post camp travel, going to see as much of the states as I can and come back sometime in September and I will hopefully create memories that I will keep with me forever!

So thats summer sorted and when I eventually come back home, I'll then be heading back to America to work as a Youth Arts Counsellor for Disney Cruise Lines! Thats right people, Ill be heading to live on a cruise ship on what I believe is the "Happiest place on Earth". Not sure what ship yet , but the training is in Walt Disney World, Florida so I will happily oblige to going !

So thats me and my life taken care of until at least 2014... Will hopefully be full of ups, new experiences, amazing people and wonderful memories.

Talk about living life to the full :)

Running.....

Another hobby that I've gained that is nothing less than hard work but awesome at the same time is Running....

In the midst of such a hectic schedule, it provides light relief as well as staying fit and healthy at the same time.

The first race I did was the Iceman on Saturday 26th January down in Frimley... It was such an amazing experience that I did with my work colleagues and only one word can describe it: HILLY!! They made you go up and down like a yoyo with no recovery time at all. It was roughly 11k , probably not the easiest race to start off with but I wouldn't change a thing about it.

NO PAIN ,NO GAIN

A couple of images below from the day, I love how I start off so happy and postive and you can see the progression in the last picture..... exhausted!!

A couple of days ago, I signed up for my next race : The Energized Night Run in Battersea London. A nice easy 5k, where you cross the finish line into the afterparty with music, food and drink that goes on until 12pm, Now that sounds like my kind of race!!

Doing it also with my colleagues so it will hopefully be another fun filled event, my training has already begun so hopefully I will not feel as much pain!

New Year... New Experiences !

Hellllllooooo,
Feeling a bit of a let down in the Blogging community as I have not actually posted since my final year at University which was in 2012! Since so much has happened and is happening as I speak, I thought I'd slowly get back into it :)

So news, I graduated from Roehampton University with a 2:1 in BA Drama, theatre & Performance Studies! Best three years of my life and I did definitely shed some tears on my Graduation day.

Its quite a surreal experience really, you work your butt off for 3 years, essay after essay, Dissertation and performances/rehearsals and then you collect a piece of paper and your done, never have to write anything ever again if you dont want to !

Since graduating, life has been pretty full on! I think I have been one of the VERY lucky ones to have  been getting offered soo much work in my industry that Im having to turn some of it away.. Thats when you know that you've made it! :)

My time is split between acting, filming, dancing, teaching, modelling, nannying, working at Childrens camps, casino, retail, marketing, admin,promotions/events and other random work..... Mental would be an appropriate word here :) But im loving it!!!!

Richmond Theatre Young Company

Just a brief update on an exciting new project that I am involved in, I am a member of the brand new Richmond Young Company which is a part of the historic Richmond Theatre and I am having so much fun with it. The company is made up of 16-25 year olds, we have 4 masterclasses with professional actors and directors in the business, then we have rehearsals up until the end of July when we perform on the Richmond Theatre stage to family, friends and general members of the public.

The above pictures are shots of the exterior of the theatre and inside the auditiorim which just show how classically beautiful it is and some very talented performers have acted on this stage, so for me to be able to follow in their footsteps makes me very happy.
We are currently just getting started in the rehearsal phrase of the process, our opening performance will be near the end of July 2012, although I believe that it is in the same week as a certain Olympic performance so lets just say , that week could very well be the end of me :)
What I love about being a part of this company, is that after our 1st show, we are given the opportunity to work with another director and create a whole new piece to be seen late Autumn. The amount of time I am going to be spending with professionals in the industry is a great chance to show off and get recognised :)
Having already started in rehearsals, I have met a lot of great people and I can tell that our show is going to be amazing...hopefully.

Olympic Games Performer

Been a bit busy lately, my schedule has been so ram-packed, i'm amazed that I still have time for the normal things like watching television & socialising.

But received some great news last week that I had to share and that is that I have been successful and will be performing at the Olympics Opening Ceremony!!! I am very excited and very happy. I think I really wanted it just because I put so much effort into it, going to two auditions and working my butt off, I really got a taste for it and would have been highly disappointed if i had not been chosen. But I must have done something right :)

I'm not going to lie, i've seen my rehearsal schedule and It is pretty full on, long days of rehearsing God knows what, it will probably be the most stressful, tiring but hopefully rewarding experience and it's once in a lifetime.

Due to this wonderful news, I can share that I have started jogging with my flatmates to start working on my fitness and stamina levels now [haha]

But I am thrilled and even though it is likely to be intense. I cannot wait to completely get stuck into it and find out what I will be doing & just going through an amazing experience.

No One's Code

Hey,

I just wanted to share a little bit about a short film that I was cast in , that was centered around the issue of human rights and will premeire at the Human Rights Festival next week.
I  was extremely excited to be cast because I have such little experience performing to a camera which is all changing now though!
Titled "No -Ones code, it is a take of 1984 in some ways, all of the characters have no individual identity, they all wear the same colour clothes and are all considered as just workers, not real people. There is definitely a sense of being afraid and just doing what the Government tells you to because you are scared of what could happen to you or your family. Eventually, two of the characters are close to breaking free of their rigid lifestyle but will they be able to and what consequences await them if they do. It is highly deep and emotional writing. I was cast as Worker 5 and shooting was very enjoyable. Less pressure than if it were a stage show but on set, you do tend to make friends quite easily and it ends up being an enjoyable day's filming. I cannot wait for it to premiere and I just hope that we did the tense subject justice, I also find that my love for being in front of the camera is increasingly growing too.
